I don’t want to influence you but…

ALMOST FAMOUS. Almost famous. Almost Famous. Almost Famous…
My god, such a greaaat movie ! It’s the number one movie I’ve seen so far in 2001 (Traffic, Virgin Suicides and Crouching Tigger are from last year, right ?)…
Where High Fidelity (the movie) failed miserably to reach the excellence of Nick Hornby’s novel, and to make people share the love for music of the hero, Almost Famous is the greatest piece of entertainment ever shoot about rock’n’roll. If you’ve ever felt in love for a rock band between 15 and 20, « love them to the point it hurts » as they say in the movie, this one is for you !!
« The only real currency in this bankrupt world is what we share with each other when we’re being uncool. » say (fake) Lester Bangs to the young William in the movie. This is a movie about being on the uncool side. This is a movie about love for us, the ones who really value it, as you value something you’ve had a hard time building.
This is a movie for us, who get infatuated to some band and buy every single obscure record and would love to be on stage to the sides of the glorious mind who created and who’s invoking the music. The beauty. The grace. (see this exciting website, you music geeks)
This is a movie for us, who fall in love to every cute and sexy Penny Lane we meet (is this bigamy ?).
This is a movie for YOU.
I don’t want to influence you, but GO SEE IT !
