Le dilemme du moment c’est : le Believer est un des meilleurs mensuels du monde. Est-ce que je dois m’abonner et dépenser une somme indécente parce que les frais de port coûtent aussi cher que la souscription, ou est-ce que je peux me contenter des quelques articles qu’ils proposent à la consultation sur leur site web et d’un ou deux numéros par an que l’on me rapporte d’outre-Atlantique ?

Quoi qu’il en soit, le magazine vient de mettre en ligne une belle interview avec Marjane Satrapi, qui a connu une presse assez phénoménale aux Etats-Unis ces derniers mois lorsqu’on considère les thèmes et la subtilité de son œuvre.

People are always so shocked to find out that in Iran we knew about punk rock. Sometimes we learned about it before Americans. I have friends from the Midwest who found out about the punk movement after I did. It also shows the power of anecdotes, a small story, to explain the bigger picture. So I worked in anecdotes of my own to comment on the world. Because the world is not decided by George Bush and Saddam Hussein. They make things happen in the news, but that’s not real life. Real life is you and me.
