En américain, il y a un sens du dialogue et de l'accent. Par exemple chez Pynchon, il n'y a pas deux personnages qui parlent de la même façon. Il y a des pages où il n'indique pas qui parle, c'est à l'oreille qu'on est censé le savoir, et reconstituer cela en français reste très difficile. On ne peut pas massacrer l'orthographe en français comme on le fait en américain, car c'est une langue trop rigide.
